About Jeanne Nicholson, ARNP, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatry in Bellevue, WA

Jeanne Nicholson, ARNP, PMHNP-BC

Jeanne Nicholson, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, welcomes people of all ages needing mental health care to her practice, Nicholson Psychiatry, PLLC, in Bellevue, Washington. As a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, she has extensive experience performing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health disorders, and prescribing medications.

Jeanne is passionate about destigmatizing mental health treatment. She advocates for people who don’t have a voice and provides compassionate, safe, and effective treatment for those in need.

After getting her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, Jeanne worked in emergency care and oncology.

Through her extensive experience as a registered nurse, she became aware of the connection between mind, body, and soul, and how to uplift and improve that connection with psychiatric care. This encouraged her to pursue her education to become a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner, so she continued her education.

Jeanne received her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and then completed her psychiatric residency at the Birmingham Veterans Administration Health Care System in Birmingham, Alabama.

Her personal experiences guide her approach to life and mental health care. Living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast during Hurricane Katrina taught her the strength of people working together to overcome adversity.

That challenging time forms the backbone of her approach to mental health care. She works together with patients, their caregivers, and health care providers to achieve shared goals that dramatically improve each person’s mental health.

Jeanne is also a breast cancer survivor, an experience that gave her a fundamental understanding of how the spirit can break and why one in four people diagnosed with a major illness develop depression.
